Good{will outlet} Friday #27 ~ Inspired by The Loft

There are three things I especially like about this outfit from The Loft:
*The bright flats peeking out from layers of neutral colors
*The casual gray skirt dressed up just enough to be seen in public
*the combination of cozy textures

Day 29 (birthday stuff)~ 30 Days of Nothing Challenge

With my budget of $0, finding a birthday cake was kind of a challenge this year.

Day 29 ~ 30 Days of Nothing Challenge

Day 29

The end is near! Just one more day of the challenge!

Life's a Beach

I'm on a mission to participate in as many summer activities as I can before sweater season - especially going to the beach.
On the shore by Grand Haven is my favorite secret little beach called Rosy Mounds Natural Area.  What makes this beach so wonderful is a 0.7 mile nature walk through the woods from the parking lot to the beach.

A gravel trail winds through the forest with wooden stairs (and lots of them) dotted with lookout areas and benches.
The forest is so quiet and peaceful.  I'm always amazed when I think of how this place is only 30 minutes away from the loud, busy city of Grand Rapids.
For most people, hiking to the beach is out of the question, leaving this sandy paradise practically vacant.
The water was clear and blue and warm.  We spent the afternoon reading in the sun, combing the beach for little treasures and walking the trails.
It was an amazing day.

Good{will outlet} Friday #25 ~ Inspired by Ash and Dans

Ash and Dans is an online store that features beautiful scarves.  I'm sure I've mentioned this about 1,000,000 times, but for some reason I love scarves.

Time Traveler's Necklace (DIY)

One of my favorite pastimes is visiting little antique shops (especially on rainy days).

Good{will outlet} Friday #24 ~ Inspired by Anthropologie

Well, this has been a busy week.  So busy, in fact, that Friday had to be postponed all the way until Wednesday.  Better late than never, right?

Things I made in College

In my days at Kendall, I majored in Industrial Design, but took classes in all types of different arts, such as photography, art education, creative story telling, and web design.

Neon Mustache Journal (DIY)

These journals were inspired by my friends Nikki and Mitch, who also love mustaches.

Embellished Button Purse (DIY) ~ With Lotsofbuttons.com

I fell head over heels in love with the handmade feel and vintage style.  At that moment, I realized that I really wanted -no needed- an embellished leather purse of my own.
