Miniature Paint and Brushes (DIY)

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I have been working on the weekends at a certain popular toy store for many, many years.
I finally quit - and my last day was just a week before Black Friday. Lucky me!

Doll House Makeover ~ Part 2 (DIY)

Welcome to Part 2 of the plastic dollhouse makeover! This is the second of three posts about fixing up a plastic dollhouse for Calico Critter toys.  An internet search will bring up dozens of wooden dollhouse makeovers, but these posts are especially for plastic houses that need a little extra TLC before dolls or critters can move in.

Doll House Makeover ~ Part 1 (DIY)

Recently, I received an email from a girl named Sailor about making over an old dollhouse for her Calico Critters.  I've read dozens of wooden dollhouse makeover stories online, but not a single post about plastic homes.  Most modern toys are made of plastic and unfortunately, a layer of fresh paint and some wall paper scraps won't do the job.  For this project, I found a sweet plastic Fisher Price Little People house produced in 1996 to re-vamp. Tiny Things (Furniture Sets)

I've been making a lot of tiny things for my Etsy shop recently.
Currently, I'm obsessed with making little furniture sets for Calico Critters (and taking pictures of them). I've been creating each little group by combining old, new, and handmade parts.  I like the challenge of finding and making different items that look nice together as a group.  Each of the sets I've put together in the past few weeks has a theme.  This is the Woodland Owl Playroom (my very favorite set right now).

Calico Critter House Flip

A few months ago, while digging through the Goodwill Outlet Center bins, I found a vintage Calico Critter house from the 1980's!  Yaaaaaaay!  Unfortunately, it was beat up and missing some parts...like the stairs, a few doors...the base of the house....nothing big, right?  As I dragged my treasure into our apartment, my husband's jaw dropped.
