I always imagined that I would live alone as a crazy cat lady.

Good{will outlet} Friday #4 District 12
I went to Goodwill Outlet Center twice this week and tore through those bins with a mission: finding clothing and accessories to put together a Hunger Games inspired outfit.

Hunger Games Arrow Bookmark (DIY)
Usually, when reading a good book, I use whatever is nearby as a bookmark: business cards, tags from new clothes, candy wrappers, etc. Sadly, I lose little tags and cards in the pages, or they just fall out and end up on the floor. Here's a bookmark for you to make, designed to look like Katniss' weapon of choice, and to keep your place in the story!

Hunger Games Nightlock Berry Keychain (DIY)
The poisonous nightlock berries tucked deep in Katniss' pocket saved Peeta and her at the last minute in The Hunger Games.

Hunger Games Postcard (DIY)
If the citizens of Panem could travel from district to district in The Hunger Games, maybe they would send each other postcards...

Hunger Games Mockingjay Bobby pins (DIY)
Just when I thought I couldn't love the Hunger Games series anymore, I saw the trailer for the first movie. I've been counting down the days (just five left) until it will be showing in theaters.

American Pie
Another up-cycled mini dessert: Pie. Did you ever pick up a beer bottle cap and think, "This would make a great mini pie pan?" I have a collection of them, just waiting to be needed for something.

Easter Gifts from Office Supplies (DIY)
Whenever I work at my mother-in-law's office, my mind wanders to the things I could make with her supplies. If you are stuck at work and need to make some quick Easter basket stuffers, everything you need is right there in your desk.

You Can't Go Home
You can never go home again, but the truth is you can never leave home, so it's all right.

Sweet Snack Sunday ~ Cheese and Crackers with Coraline
I love everything about the movie Coraline! I especially love the food: mango milkshakes, gravy trains and chocolate bugs from Zanzibar!

Painting the Roses Red
I wrote a post a few weeks ago about buying outdated jewelry from a going out of business sale to transform (Jewelry Makeover), and this is part two.
The Observer's 100 Greatest Novel List
I am currently reading through the list of the Observer's 100 Greatest Novels. I've talked about this in previous posts, but since I reference it so often, I want to keep a list here to update. Books makes me happy. I love to read until I fall asleep, then dream about the people and places in the stories. I can't help but to be inspired by them. Many of the ideas I've had for art projects were sparked by what I was reading about at the time.

To Write Love on Her Arms
You might notice that some of your coworkers or classmates are walking around today with the word 'Love' scribbled on their arm. Today is National Self Harm Awareness Day.
