Quote Bookmark (DIY)

"Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.
And then there are books like An Imperial Affliction, which you can't tell people about, books so special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like betrayal."

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world..."   -Mahatma Gandhi

I have always loved this quote because its a call for action - and its very fitting for Earth Day.

Arrow Wallet (DIY)

I absolutely love making these little felt wallets: they're cute, simple, and just big enough to hold a few vital cards (originally made for a post inspired by the book Phantom Tollbooth).  Maybe because of Valentines day, or because I just watched The Three Musketeers last night, I was really into embellishing them with arrows. The heads and tails of these arrows are actually little metallic iron-on heart shaped studs from My Next Style.

Monogram Keychain (DIY)

We all have that one special friend that loses everything - everything - from her purse to her keys to her phone.  She is loved, buuuuut......this gets old.  I present to you the ideal handmade gift for said friend: a neon monogram keychain that glows in the dark.  Not only is it cute, but this is about as practical as a DIY project can get.

Lace Cuff Top (DIY)

Believe it or not, it is time to start thinking about autumn.  We still have a month of summer sun to bask in, but fall fashion is here and back-to-school shopping has begun!  After watching this Changing Room video by Free People, I was smitten with the Lace Cuff Henley and all of the fabulous ways it could be worn:

Dream Catcher Tote (DIY)

Did you ever go to summer camp as a kid?
That week at camp was the single highlight of my year (even more exciting than Christmas).  Archery, tubing, and camping were fun, but my real passion was arts & crafts.  I was kind of an indoors kid: I'm sure this doesn't come as a surprise to you.  My afternoons were filled with magazine collages, glitter, and mastering the exotic art of Popsicle Stick Box Making (this is a staple camp craft right here).  Each summer, I brought home a fresh collection of friendship bracelets, painted ceramic animals, and dream catchers to decorate my room and enhance my indoor lifestyle as I endured the fifty-one week long wait till I could return to camp.

Comic-Con Super Shorts

In case you didn't already know (like if you happen to live under a rock), Comic-Con took place in San Diego this weekend.  Not only have I been roped into super hero conversations at work and bombarded by a flood of Marvel related Facebook posts, but even a hand full of stores - places that sell ladies clothing - are getting in on the action.
