St. Patrick's Day Bobby Pin DIY

The day of luck! But, you know what doesn't feel so lucky?
Getting pinched because you forgot to wear green.
This is usually a sad reality for me.
It is an unfortunate combination of absentmindedness and sadistic friends (you know who you are).
This year, I'm hoping to avoid that entire situation by making these charming bobby pins and setting a reminder in my phone.  And maybe I'll get a can of mace.  That would take care of things, right?  Okay, so back to the bobby pins: they are ridiculously easy to make, practically free, and cute enough to wear post-St. Paddy's Day.

You will need:
- bobby pins
- festive nail polish
- cardboard

When selecting your nail polish, hunt down hues in green, turquoise, white, and gold.
Position the pins on cardboard with a little space between them.
Sweep them with a thin coat of nail polish.
When the polish has dried, add a few more layers.
If the layers are too thick, it will form a gloppy, paper-pin-polish hodgepodge and you won't like that.
When the polish has hardened, add details such as stripes or polka dots.
If you are using gold glitter, think about starting with a coat of tan or yellow to pump it up.
When the bobby pins are dry, carefully remove them from the cardboard and pop them in your hair!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
